Northstar advised on the capital raising for EastWest Timber, an Estonian timber products company in January 2011. EastWest Timber (“EWT”) is an Estonian timber products company, with its own Russian timber harvesting and supply division. EWT exports value added timber components to West European and Far Eastern markets from its timber processing facilities at Purila in Estonia. EWT harvests timber in North West Russia with modern European CTL John Deere harvesting equipment with John Deere trained Russian operators. EWT has an integrated British, Estonian and Russian management team with expertise in all aspects of the timber sector in Estonia and Russia, including cross border transportation.
